Māori in Business

We have some clever whānau and friends that we would love to share with you all. Think of this as your one stop shopping spot. Māori in business have some pretty awesome products, just clink on the links and take a look at their pages

Ahikā Candles by Rangatahi is the business venture of Torah and Acacia who share a passion in recycling and environmental sustainability. Their aim is to upskill rangatahi to create local solutions to the common issue of  rubbish. Take a look at their webpage if you would like to know more.

Isaia, Tiakina, Huiarangi and Heremaia are the creators of this awesome initiative. Tiakina and Isaia are passionate about keeping kapa haka alive by introducing rangatahi to the wonders of waiata Māori. Isaia and Huiarangi are the makers whilst Tiakina looks after all of the comms and Heremaia packs and couriers the parcels. Āku Poi provides whānau the opportunity to access Poi at a reasonable cost with the added bonus of a carry bag made from recycled material. Check out their facebook page to find out more.

Hōhā Homewares was created by Jewelz Petley (Te Rarawa) as a way to celebrate kupu māori in the modern world.

The kaupapa behind hōhā was for Jewelz to find a way to connect with the reo and share this with her whānau. What this resulted in was mugs and prints (and other things) printed with māori words or phrases with a twist.

Have a look at the Facebook if you’d like to know more.

We would love to display your business here with our other talented whānau, please email us at soapsbyroi@gmail.com to korero with us about how we can make that happen.
